Metal Shark is seeking a skilled Copper-Nickel Welder to join our team, specializing in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of copper-nickel piping systems and components. This role requires precision welding, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work in both shop and field environments.

Job Title: Copper-Nickel Welder

Reports to: Welding Superintendent

Location: Franklin

Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Hours: Full Time, 6:00 A.M. – 5 P.M. Monday-Friday

Potential for overtime on Weekdays and Weekends

Education or Required Experience:

· 3 to 5 years of experience in the ship/boat building industry

· Ability to read blue prints a plus

· Must be able to tack, distribute heat evenly with a clean weld

· Must be able to pass the MSB Pre-Employment Mock Weld Test

Required Skills:

· Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on copper-nickel alloys to exact specifications

· Experience in marine and shipbuilding a plus

· Knowledge of ASME and AWS welding codes

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols a plus

· Prepare, fit, and align materials prior to welding

· Inspect welds for quality, strength, and compliance with industry standards

· Maintain welding equipment and tools in optimal condition

· Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and hazard awareness

· Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions

· Collaborate with fabricators, pipefitters, and supervisors to meet project deadline

· Possess strong attention to detail in order to aid Metal Shark's strong quality assurance program

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.

Pay: $ $45.00 per hour
