Established in 1919 and traded on the NYSE, Standard Motor Products, Inc. (SMP) is a leading independent manufacturer and distributor of premium automotive replacement parts utilized in the maintenance, repair, and service of vehicles in the automotive aftermarket. Additionally, SMP provides customized solutions for vehicle control and thermal management products in diversified end markets represented by its Engineered Solutions segment.
Globally, SMP employs over 6,000 employees across nearly 40 manufacturing, distribution, and engineering facilities and offices located in North America, Europe and Asia. SMP sells its products primarily to automotive aftermarket retailers, program distribution groups, warehouse distributors, original equipment manufacturers, and original equipment service part operations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, Mexico, and other Latin American countries.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Finance Senior Manager with strong technology skills to join our finance team. This role will play a critical part in driving financial planning, forecasting, and analysis across our global operations. This position partners closely with senior leadership across Finance, Operations, IT, and our Business Units to support strategic decision-making, track transformation plan benefits, and enable operational and digital change programs to achieve targeted outcomes. The ideal candidate will have strong modeling skills, experience with planning technology tools, business acumen, and the ability to communicate insights that influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning Leadership
- Serve as finance lead for multi-year transformation and modernization programs (digital, operational efficiency, restructuring, etc.).
- Challenge assumptions and provide insight to ensure business cases are financially sound and aligned with organizational strategy.
- Partner with the Transformation Office to define financial targets, KPIs, and success metrics.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop cost–benefit analysis, ROI models, and scenario planning for initiatives.
- Track actual vs. forecasted benefits, including efficiency gains, revenue uplift, and transformation costs.
- Provide monthly and quarterly performance reporting to executive leadership.
Value Realization & Governance
- Build frameworks to monitor, quantify, and validate delivered value.
- Lead financial governance, ensuring transparency and accountability in program spend and benefits.
- Facilitate timely risk identification and mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and transformation workstream owners.
- Present complex financial insights in an accessible, decision-supportive manner.
- Influence leadership to adopt data-driven change decisions.
Process & Systems Optimization
- Support finance process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Drive adoption of financial tools and dashboards for enterprise transformation.
- Partner with IT and data teams to improve financial reporting capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline (MBA/CPA/CIMA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A, business partnering, and transformation/change management.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and standard costing in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with ERP systems and BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Planning Cloud EPM (EPBCS/PBCS) or similar planning platforms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Experience working with international teams and understanding global financial practices.

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000-130,000.
