Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Lymphedema Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will specialize in the management and treatment of lymphedema, providing personalized care to improve patients' quality of life. This role involves developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, educating patients on self-care techniques, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient support. The Lymphedema Therapist will play a vital part in helping patients manage swelling, discomfort, and mobility challenges associated with lymphedema.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine the severity and specific needs related to lymphedema.
  • Develop and implement customized treatment plans utilizing manual lymphatic drainage, compression therapy, exercise, and skin care.
  • Educate patients on self-management techniques, including exercises, skin hygiene, and compression garment use.
  • Monitor patient progress regularly and adjust treatment protocols accordingly to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and clinical observations in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Stay current with advancements in lymphedema management through ongoing professional development and training.

Qualifications

  • Valid license or certification as a Lymphedema Therapist or equivalent credential in physical therapy, occupational therapy, therapy with specialized training in lymphedema management.
  • Proven experience in treating lymphedema or related conditions is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of manual lymphatic drainage techniques and compression therapy.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Compassionate approach with a commitment to improving patient well-being.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of care.
