*Beaumont Electric, Inc., A Norlee Company, is looking for a highly motivated Superintendent in Naples, FL to join our team. This role is responsible for all the field employees on this project. He/she would be required to do a working estimate and take-off jointly with the Project Manager. He/she would lay out the work for the Lead Person and be responsible (with the Project Manager) for having the material, tools/equipment, information, and employee requirements on the jobsite in the proper place in a timely fashion (schedule/man loading charts). Take care of correspondence and forms required by the office, i.e., daily reports, time sheets, safety reports, accident reports, etc. This person would monitor the work being done, direct the crew and have the work scheduled according to the pace of the job and other trades. The Superintendent effectively utilizes management skills in directing foreman and crew along with coordinating crew activities within the scope of his/her duties. **MUST have Multifamily experience**

What this Role will Do:

  • Plans work and schedules
  • Completes required paperwork
  • Initiates and monitors safety program
  • Secure tools, equipment and material from storage areas to complete assigned tasks
  • Daily clean up
  • Demonstrates efficient knowledge of trade
  • Coordinates with other trades
  • Prepares detail drawings for job
  • Coordinates with the Project Manager
  • Has direct communication with General Contractor
  • Makes arrangements for inspections at appropriate milestones
  • Evaluates fellow employees
  • Possess skills of lower Rating Job Titles (Journeyman, Mechanic, Apprentice and Helpers
  • Coordinating receiving of all material handling, including fixtures and gear
  • Responsible for managing all sub-contractors
  • Must direct in a professional manner
  • Maintain accurate as-builts
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe and O.S.H.A. compliant worksite
  • O.S.H.A. 30 and CPR certified

Qualifications

Skills

  • Positively identify colors of wires
  • Reading and drawing prints and schematics
  • Bend conduit by hand with hand benders
  • Must use all power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches
  • Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment
  • Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Policy Handbook, Haz-Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy
  • Operates two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers
  • Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmissions (MUST BE ON THE APPROVED COMPANY LIST TO OPERATE ALL COMPANY VEHICLES)
  • Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, basic blueprints and written instructions
  • Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered)
  • Operate equipment, trenchers, backhoe, and lift trucks in a safe manner
  • Knowledge of how to safely work energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in Safety Policy
  • Supervise assigned job-site employees to complete project.

Education and/or Experience

The Superintendent should hold a minimum of an associate's degree in a related discipline or have an equivalent combination of education and experience in construction, engineering, or related discipline. Additionally, the role requires at least 6 years of progressively responsible estimating experience, or a comparable blend of education and practical experience in the field.

Language/Interpersonal/LeadershipSkills

The Superintendent must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. This individual should be capable of preparing detailed reports, estimates, and instructions, as well as delivering clear verbal communication to clients, representatives, and internal staff. The role requires frequent in-person interactions with clients, general contractor representatives, and other team members, necessitating the ability to express complex information effectively and concisely.

MathematicalSkills

Proficiency in basic mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are essential for the Superintendent. This individual must be capable of calculating percentages, costs, gross margins, and gross profits related to material, labor, and project estimates. A high degree of attention to detail is required, as the role demands accuracy in financial estimations while adhering to deadlines. The individual should also possess a strong drive to ensure that all calculations and documentation meet the highest standards of quality.

Computer Skills

The Superintendent needs strong computer skills in several areas, including project management software, CAD/BIM software, and programming/simulation tools. They should also be proficient in software related to electrical design, documentation, and reporting. Additionally, understanding computer networking concepts and basic troubleshooting skills is beneficial.

Physical Demands

The role of Superintendent typically involves office-based work, but the individual may also be required to visit construction sites. The position requires frequent walking, standing, reaching, and crouching, and the individual must be able to use their hands with dexterity to operate various tools. In some instances, the role may require the physical stamina to perform activities such as climbing or navigating uneven or rough terrain at construction sites.

Work Environment:

While most of the work is performed in an office environment, the Superintendent will also occasionally visit construction sites at various stages of completion. At these sites, the individual may encounter environmental hazards, such as uneven dirt paths, loose gravel, or hard concrete floors. The use of protective equipment, such as headwear, ear protection, eye protection, and safety footwear, is typically required when on-site. The individual should be adaptable to varying environmental conditions and comfortable working in both office and construction settings.
