This position supports patient care within a hospital environment, emphasizing safety and compliance in medication preparation and distribution.Description Senior Pharmacy Technician Senior Pharmacy Technician performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt accurate manner. Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS). Please note the following important details regarding this role: This role is an onsite position and will report onsite daily as scheduled Flexibility to work a rotating schedule, including weekends & holidays as scheduled Work Status Available: Full-Time, Day Required Qualifications: H.S. Diploma or GED. Upon hire: Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee -OR- Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License. 2 years Minimum of 2 years (> 4160 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and PTCB certification - OR - 3 years (> 6240 hours) hospital pharmacy if technician does not have PTCB certification. Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR). Preferred Qualifications: Coursework/Training Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program. Advanced PTCB certificate (e.g., compounded sterile products, advanced certified pharmacy technician, medication history certificate, controlled substances). Specialty certification (e.g. ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state. Why Join Providence?
