Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Incentives and benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.Senior Portfolio Manager – Wealth ManagementSt. Louis, MO | Chicago, IL | Rockford, ILSalary Range:$103,700 - $138,200 - $172,800 annuallyPosition SummaryThe Senior Portfolio Manager will manage a book of more complex investment accounts generally involving client servicing and being a resource for Advisors to assist them with questions and help with business development. The Senior Portfolio Manager is expected to contribute to the Wealth Management investment strategy. This position is an individual contributor role.Primary AccountabilitiesDevelops comprehensive asset allocation and investment programs tailored to individual client objectives and risk tolerance. Offers creative solutions for complex client investment goals, incorporating various assets such as annuities, individual bonds/equities, and alternative investments. Maintains active communication with clients and advisors, providing ongoing support in managing high-net-worth client relationships and prospects. Recommends appropriate investment products and services based on objectives, risk tolerance and optimal asset allocations. Provides a high level of support to the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) advisory group, assessing complex client portfolios and making recommendations in accordance with Midland Wealth investment policies. Collaborates with the research team to discuss and contribute to new investment ideas, enhancing the overall investment process and provide insight that will help our advisors and clients. Monitors and communicates the performance of individual accounts and investment strategies. Collaborates with the implementation team to ensure proper review and trading of client portfolios, implementing best practices for more complex portfolio strategies. Actively contributes content related to approved lists and provide buy/sell recommendations for selected strategies and products, and communicate core securities / holdings to clients and prospects. Serves as a subject matter for equities, fixed income, alternative investments, and/or annuity solutions. Stays abreast of industry trends by maintaining awareness of new investment strategies and instruments through regular contact with industry professionals and personal research. Represents Midland Wealth and communicates investment philosophies to centers of influence, including occasional presentations to industry groups. Completes all sales activity documentation for performance tracking and targeting future sales efforts. Identifies opportunities for additional product cross-sell to existing clients. Develops and maintains a referral network of internal and external sources for additional sales opportunities. Identifies and refers business to other areas within the Bank as appropriate. Collaborates with junior team members to enhance client communication and portfolio management skill sets. Mentors junior team members in person meetings and through appropriate meetings. Develops content for investment newsletters, internal/external information pieces and presentations in collaboration with third party sources. Strictly adheres to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Bank and regulatory standards. The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed. Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Other duties as assigned.Position QualificationsEducation/Experience:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or finance related studies. Advanced degree or professional certifications preferred (i.e. MBA, CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CIMA (Certified Investment Management Analyst), etc.). Minimum 8 years previous experience in wealth or investment management or advanced credentials. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organization and time management skills. Strong attention to detail.
