The role involves interpreting engineering documents, using hand and air tools, and working closely with engineering personnel to solve problems. Safety compliance, attention to detail, and collaboration within a manufacturing environment are key aspects of this position.Electro-Mechanical, LLCis seeking a Paint- Grind based at our facility in Bristol, Virginia. The Paint- Grind supports the manufacturing process by preparing, finishing, and inspecting metal components according to customer specifications and company standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with team members to ensure high-quality output and efficient workflow. TheTest Technicianis responsible for electrically tests, troubleshooting and performing a quality assurance inspection on the equipment manufactured at Federal Pacific. This role is for the 2nd Shift. UNUSUAL ENVIRONMENT FACTORS: Normal manufacturing environment with some dust and noise. Voltages up to 200KV. Troubleshoot energized circuits with 120 volts present. Responsibilities: Comprehend and follow shop procedures, standard practice instructions, prints, diagrams and other written and verbal instructions.Manipulate apparatus and components to required workstations, equipment, stations and positions.Able to use hand tools and air tools.Determine proper method for testing various components.Complete testing, troubleshooting, and inspection of simple to complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical components and verify proper or faulty components.Interpret documented engineering and customer specifications and quality inspection requirements.Able to determine quality of workmanship as well as operation and function of electrical circuitsAssist with special work assignments as assigned by the Area Manager or designee with appropriate instruction and supervision provided.Comprehend and observe all safety and quality standards and participate in Kaizan and Area Focus Teams.Work with Engineering and design personnel to help solve problems and correct documentation for future use.Using manual tools, occasional solvents, and cleaning supplies to maintain a clean and orderly work area.To maintain regular and timely attendance, to work in an efficient manner, and to work overtime when required, all sufficiently to support the continuous manufacturing processWork in close concert with, and getting along with, co-workers.Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of electrical and electronic test equipment.Knowledge of operation and ability to troubleshooting PLCs.Proficient with computer operation and the ability to set up communication parameters with protective relaying or PLCs as neededUnderstanding of basic transformer concepts and connections such as Wye and Delta connectionsFamiliarity with single and three phase circuitsFamiliarity with protective relaying and control schemesUnderstand and help develop safe work practices when working in close proximity to energized electrical equipment.Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.Ability to travel throughout facility as required to perform essential duties.EMC expects that every team member will be guided by EMC's Guiding Principles.
