Job Description Job Description Plant Controller – Madison, WI - Hybrid Direct Hire | Manufacturing Industry Our team is partnering with a manufacturing company in the Madison area seeking a Plant Controller to join their leadership group. This position will be a key business partner to the Plant Manager and senior leadership team, driving financial performance, supporting operational excellence, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of plant results. What You’ll Do: Serve as the financial leader for the plant, overseeing all accounting, cost, and financial analysis activities. Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate reporting of production, inventory, and variances. Partner with operations to analyze manufacturing performance, identify cost drivers, and recommend improvements. Manage standard costing, BOMs, and inventory controls to maintain financial integrity. Develop budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses in collaboration with plant leadership. Support audits, internal controls, and compliance with corporate policies and GAAP. Provide guidance to accounting staff and promote a culture of continuous improvement. What You’ll Need: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, and plant operations. Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence business decisions. Why This Role: Stable and growing company with a strong leadership team.
