Job Description Job Description Job Title: HVAC Service Technician Job Description As an HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential homes and multi-unit properties. You will ensure these systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with local codes. This role requires working independently or in teams, with projects ranging from single-family homes to multi-family properties. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductwork. Set meetings for the sales team to upsell services or equipment. Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal system performance. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate tools and techniques. Communicate clearly with homeowners regarding service needs, repair options, and maintenance recommendations. Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and customer interactions. Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations. Respond to emergency service calls as needed. Essential Skills 3 years of experience as a residential or commercial service technician. Ability to work independently on service calls. Proven track record of completing service calls. Ability to operate a company service vehicle. Ability to troubleshoot equipment. Professionalism and customer service experience. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical components, and refrigeration principles. EPA Certification. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals. Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills. Why Work Here? Our team is expanding into large projects, such as multi-unit, multi-story apartment buildings, and there is a significant amount of work on the horizon. Work Environment Service Technicians work in teams of 2 or independently, reporting to a service lead or manager. The standard shift is Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, with the possibility of shifts ranging from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm or later. Overtime is common, requiring willingness to work 10-20 additional hours per week. Technicians are on-call one day per week, averaging 3-4 days per month. Projects involve both new builds and older homes, requiring professionalism and strong customer service skills when working in lived-in properties. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Schenectady, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $114400.00/yr.
