Job Description Job Description Job Title: Diesel Shop Manager / Foreman Company: Gateway Terminal, Enstructure LLC Location: 31 Waterfront Street, New Haven, CT Employment Type: Full-Time | Day Shift | Minimal Travel Required About Gateway Terminal (Enstructure LLC) Gateway Terminal is part of Enstructure’s national network of marine terminals. Located in the Port of New Haven, we provide integrated logistics services for dry bulk, liquid bulk, and breakbulk cargo. Enstructure operates 22 terminals across the U.S., offering reliable and efficient supply chain solutions. Position Overview We are hiring a Diesel Shop Manager / Foreman to lead the daily operations of our diesel and auto repair shop. This role blends technical expertise with leadership, ensuring optimal fleet performance, regulatory compliance, and team productivity. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Scheduling: Supervise a team of 5 diesel mechanics; assign tasks and manage daily workflow. Fleet Maintenance & Repairs: Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, brake systems, and electrical components on trucks, trailers, forklifts, and heavy equipment. Inventory & Vendor Coordination: Maintain parts inventory, manage orders, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely supply. Safety & Compliance: Enforce DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards; conduct inspections and maintain a safe work environment. Maintenance Planning: Use CMMS or fleet management software to schedule preventive maintenance and reduce equipment downtime. Training & Development: Mentor mechanics, conduct performance reviews, and support career growth. Reporting & Metrics: Track KPIs such as repair turnaround time, equipment availability, and shop productivity. Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve shop operations. Cross-Department Collaboration: Coordinate with terminal operations, logistics, and safety teams. Emergency Repairs: Lead troubleshooting and repair efforts during breakdowns or disruptions.
