Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Macon, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,894 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Macon, Georgia, 31201 Job Title: RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - CCRN (preferred) Must-Have: EKG competency exam required during onboarding Description: RN position in the Intensive Care Unit. Facility has 637 licensed beds and a Level 1 trauma designation. It is a teaching hospital with designations as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. Each ICU unit has 10-20 beds. Patient types and common diagnoses include Critical Care Unit, Medical ICU, Surgical Trauma ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, and Progressive Care Unit. Patient ratios are 1:1-2 for ICU and 1:3-4 for Progressive Care Unit. LPN ratios are 1:4-6. Most units have 1-2 CNAs per shift to assist with vitals, blood glucose checks, baths, bed changes, feeding, and ensuring patient safety. Unit secretaries are available from 7 AM to 11 PM, and house-wide call secretaries are available from 11 PM to 7 AM. Charge nurses are present to oversee operations. Phlebotomy responsibilities mainly fall on lab collect teams, and RNs will draw off of central venous lines. No dedicated IV team, but a PICC team is available. Resource nurses, discharge nurses, and a resource team are available to float to all units. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7, as well as hospitalists and intensivists. Telemetry monitoring and technicians are part of the central telemetry unit. The electronic medical record system is EPIC. IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and specific unit equipment are utilized within the department. Travelers will be utilized in a float pool capacity, required to float to all Med/Tele units as needed. Weekend rotation includes 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 on a 6-week scheduling cycle. Holiday expectations include working one shift of each major holiday. Requests for time off must go through management for approval. Scrub color for RNs is navy, and for LPNs is ceil blue.
