This opportunity seeks a Rhode Island Certified Special Education Teacher to serve grades K2 in a K12 public school setting located in Cranston, RI. The contract position follows the current school year calendar and focuses on providing specialized instructional support within an inclusive classroom environment. The classroom serves 1415 students and utilizes an inclusion model exclusively, with no self-contained classrooms. Services are delivered through both push-in and pull-out support strategies, aiming to integrate students into the general education classroom to the greatest extent possible. Collaboration with teacher assistants and paraprofessionals supports the delivery of tailored instruction. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized instruction and support to grades K2 students with special education needs within an inclusive model Work collaboratively with general education teachers to facilitate student integration and inclusion Deliver push-in and pull-out services based on individual education plans (IEPs) Participate in IEP development, review, and ongoing team collaboration Monitor and document student progress, adapting instruction as needed Manage classroom activities and coordinate with paraprofessional staff Qualifications: Rhode Island Certification as a Special Education Teacher required Experience working within an inclusion model preferred Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff and support personnel Strong understanding of K2 developmental and learning needs Skilled in individualized instruction and behavior support techniques Schedule and Location: Position based in Cranston, RI Full-time hours: 7:30 AM 3:00 PM, inclusive of instructional time, planning, and IEP-related duties This contract role offers the chance to impact young learners with special needs through inclusive practices that foster growth and participation.
