Division Overview:Crown’s Food Division is the number one manufacturer of food cans in the world. Our complete array of food packaging serves a variety of markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder and other dry food products. We offer a wide selection of food cans from round to bowl as well as shaped cans. We truly focus on excellence. Here is your chance to join the Crown Food Division.Location:Plant 37 is located in Hanover, PA. The Plant manufactures 2-piece and 3-piece steel cans for the food industry over 7 shifts. There are approximately 95 employees at the Hanover location. The Plant is located on Route 194 in York County and is in close proximity to Gettysburg PA, York PA and the Maryland border.Position overview:The Electrical Technician will provide support to plant operations through troubleshooting, performing maintenance, repairing and installing of equipment, electrical systems and components. This position works on a rotational four on four off 12-hour schedule. This opening will be scheduled 5pm-5am. The starting rate of pay is $38.5006 with an additional $2 an hour shift differential. Duties And Responsibilities:Reporting directly to the Electrical Engineer, the Electrical Technician’s responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following: Maintain and troubleshoot all electrical systems and devices within the plantKnowledge and solid understanding of Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs)Edit PLC programming Diagnose component issuesAssist in new installations and upgrades of plant equipmentConduct process checks as requiredPerform regular safety inspections to ovensWork with and lead outside contractors as needed to complete projects or various plant maintenance functionsKeep work area safe, clean and organizedAssist and support other production floor operations as requiredKeep Manufacturing Supervisors and Manufacturing Managers informed of operational status of equipment.Complete all administrative tasks, including logbooks, data entry and record keeping in proper order; andPerform other job-related duties as assignedMandatory Overtime as required *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED 6 -10 years manufacturing experienceAbility to work overtime or weekends if necessary (for projects)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)Mechanical aptitudeKnowledge of variable speed drives (programming and set-up)Experience with high pressure hydraulics and pneumaticsExperience with automated material handling systems Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics and manualsExperience troubleshooting magnetic controls (e.g. switches, relays and solenoids)Knowledge and experience terminating transformers and electric motorsDemonstrated understanding and knowledge of OSHA’s electrical safe work practices (e.g. Lock-out/Tag-out, NFPA 70 Electrical Code, NFPA 79 Machinery Standards)Demonstrate knowledge of basic troubleshooting and calibration for electronicsBasic knowledge of servo and stepper motors and drivesExperience with installing and fashioning electrical conduit and installing electrical wireway and associated hangersAble to use DVM, analog type multi-meter, Amprobe, megger, oscilloscope and soldering station #FBPreferred RequirementsAssociate’s Degree in Electrical Technology or Journeyman’s card Ability to work with minimal supervisionExperience programming and setting up Allen Bradley PLCsLogix 5000 based systemsSLC 500PLC-5Experience with HMI Programming and set-upRockwell PV and PV+Automation Direct, C-More Touch PanelsKnowledge of PLC Network programming and set-upDeviceNetEthernet IPPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlThe employee may lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
