The Opportunity We are working with companies in Plainwell that are adding Bookkeepers to their teams. These organizations value quality over speed in hiring. Key Responsibilities Process accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments for materials and services. Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing customers for manufactured goods and following up on collections. Perform monthly bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations. Process payroll for manufacturing staff, ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Maintain accurate records of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Prepare and post journal entries to ensure the integrity of financial data. Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures and generate basic financial statements. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations. Demonstrated understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and job costing in a manufacturing environment. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and support month-end/year-end close processes. Strong analytical skills for identifying discrepancies and ensuring data integrity. Bonus Qualifications Exposure to cost accounting principles or inventory valuation methods. Experience with ERP systems common in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Familiarity with manufacturing-specific financial reporting or analysis. Experience supporting budgeting or forecasting processes.
