Power Distribution Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Power Distribution Design Engineer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This position is open exclusively to candidates residing within the United States, and applications from outside the U.S. will be automatically rejected. The Power Distribution Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and documenting electrical power distribution systems for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, proficiency with electrical design software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams remotely. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop electrical power distribution systems in compliance with national and local codes, standards, and regulations Prepare and review detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, and coordination studies to ensure system reliability Select appropriate electrical equipment and components for power distribution systems Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure design accuracy and constructability Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design reports, specifications, and as-built drawings Support project execution, including construction support, troubleshooting, and modifications Ensure adherence to safety standards and industry best practices in all design work Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field Proven experience in power distribution design or electrical engineering Proficiency with electrical design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, Revit MEP) Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE standards, and relevant industry codes Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote environment Must reside in the United States and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility preferred Experience with utility-scale or industrial power distribution projects Knowledge of renewable energy integration and smart grid technologies Familiarity with project management tools and remote collaboration platforms Compensation: Annual Salary: $85,000 – $110,000 USD, commensurate with experience and qualifications Benefits: Fully remote work environment Competitive salary Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays Retirement plan with company contribution Professional development and training opportunities Flexible work schedule
