Field Metrology Technician Position Summary Seeking an experienced Field Metrology Technician (Laser Technician) to deliver precision measurement and alignment services at industrial job sites. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys fieldwork, frequent travel, and supporting critical industrial equipment. What You'll DoPerform field metrology services including laser tracking, laser alignment, and precision measurementConduct inspections, alignments, and dimensional verification of industrial equipmentSet up, operate, and maintain laser metrology equipment and related softwareAnalyze measurement data and prepare accurate technical reportsCollaborate with field service, machining, and operations teamsInterface directly with customers in a professional, technical mannerFollow all safety and site-specific proceduresTravel extensively to customer locations (60%) Required Experience & Skills 3–5 years of hands-on field metrology experience Strong knowledge of laser trackers, alignment systems, and precision measurement tools Experience in industrial environments such as: Power generation Oil & gas Mining Heavy industrial manufacturing Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances Comfortable working independently in the field Strong attention to detail and documentation skills Willingness to travel extensively Preferred Qualifications Experience with metrology systems such as Leica, FARO, API, or similarBackground with rotating equipment, turbines, compressors, or large assembliesPrior field service or industrial outage experience Travel: Approximately 60%
