Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist - Belcourt, North Dakota (Ultrasound RDMS Certified) Work Location Indian Health Services The Great Plains Area Indian Health Service Quentin N Burdick Memorial Healthcare Facility 1300 Hospital Loop Belcourt, North Dakota 58316 Citizenship Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen.Clearance Requirements: National Background Check with Inquiries, Fingerprints, and Drug Screen.Type of Employment: Full-Time, 40 hours per week.Period of Performance: 01 January 2026 to 31 December 2030Estimate Pay: $70.00 to $75.00/hour.Paid Time Off per Year: Up to 80 hours per year, occurring on day one.Sick Leave per Year: Up to 56 hours per year, occurring on day one.Paid Federal Holidays: Eleven (11) Paid Federal Holidays Working Hours The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist will work at a 29-bed facility and provide Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology services, and will work Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays. Shifts up to sixteen (16) hours in length and may be scheduled between the hours of 7:30 A.M. and 12:00 A.M., with a one-hour lunch break. Or the work shifts may be up to eight (8) hours in length and worked between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M., depending on the schedule agreed to. The ultrasound tech will be scheduled to be in on-call status after the scheduled tour of duty, the next day, depending on the schedule as presented by the radiology director on the days scheduled for being available in an on-call status. Qualifications Must be licensed to perform radiological procedures by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (Ultrasound RDMS Certified).A valid License to practice in the state of North Dakota as a Radiological Technologist.Be a graduate from an accredited school or program for a Radiological Technologist.Knowledge and use of digital radiological equipment.A minimum of two (2) years of Radiological Technologist experience.Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified either by the American Red Cross (ARC)or the American Heart Association (AHA).Two (2) Letters of recommendation, including a character reference from:Residency Radiology Director if in training program within the past two (2) yearsProfessional Supervisor/Department ChairmanProfessional ColleaguesStatement concerning prior professional privileges, malpractice, drug/alcohol abuse, health, and history of disciplinary actions from a state board of Radiology Examiners, Federation of State Radiology Boards, etc. **Copies of all certifications and resumes must be forwarded with your application. Duties and Responsibilities Prior to assumption of duty on any scheduled work shift, the Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist may be briefed by the Director of the radiology department or his/her designated representative concerning any matter relevant to the Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist's assumption and discharge of responsibilities.Independently operate fixed arid portable ultrasound equipment as needed. Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations and routine, more complex procedures, including breast mammograms, ultrasounds, DVT, and RVT functions if so certified.While performing very complex (special examinations) the contractor will receive procedural directions from a higher-grade technologist (Chief, Technologist) and/or Area Office consultant.Performs basic ultrasound examinations, provided that ultrasound training becomes available. The Chief, Radiologic Technologist, and/or Radiologist, if applicable, will supervise this procedure.Maintains a patient log daily, schedules patients for special examinations, and educates patients on examinations, such as preparation and all other aspects of the examination.Will be involved in the daily Quality Control of the ultrasound department, the daily Quality Control program, if this equipment is available.Perform duties as assigned by a higher-grade technologist. If the Contractor functions independently, he/she will receive directions from the Clinical Director and Area Radiology Consultant.Must be able to assist in cardiac arrest situations, CPR, and anaphylaxis shock, along with the other medical staff.Generate and maintain proper medical record information on patients to whom treatment is provided, in accordance with JCAHO/CMS/ACR and Indian Health Service (I.H.S.) regulations.Prepare all medical record documentation to meet the established standards of the Hospital, to include, but not be limited to, timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content, and signature. All medical record information generated in the performance of this contract shall remain the property of and subject to the exclusive control of the I.H.S.Participate in a continual process of self-evaluation and strive for excellence in radiology services, and participate in medical staff functions, such as medical program reviews, performance improvement activities, and organizational functions, including attending committee meetings and accepting committee assignments if and when requested by the Director of the Radiology Department.May be required to provide formal or informal continuing education to members of the Hospital Radiology Staff and other Hospital staff.
