Silver Star Construction, Inc. have been serving Oklahoma since 1981 and continues to serve in the 21st Century.Silver Star Construction, Inc. is seeking an Asphalt Plant Maintenance Technician to perform supportive roles with inspections, repairs and maintenance issues with our local and portable plants. Responsibilities:Maintenance and Repair:Assist with Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of parts, including conveyor belts, screens, wear parts, and pumps. Troubleshooting:Assist with Diagnosing and resolving issues with various plant systems and equipment, including dryers, mixers, conveyors, and control systems. Operating Equipment:Assist with Operating plant equipment to test and ensure proper functioning after repairs, and potentially operating other equipment like forklifts or manlifts. Fabrication and Welding:Assist with Cutting, grinding, welding, and fabricating plant parts as needed. Safety and Documentation:Following safety procedures, maintaining records of repairs and maintenance, and ensuring a clean work environment. Qualifications:Mechanical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, with a thorough understanding of plant equipment and systems. Troubleshooting and Diagnostic Skills: Ability to identify and diagnose malfunctions and take appropriate corrective action. Welding and Fabrication: Proficiency in welding, cutting, and fabricating. Equipment Operation: Ability to operate various plant equipment and machinery. Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety procedures and ability to work safely in a plant environment. Communication and Collaboration: Ability to communicate effectively with other plant personnel and supervisors. Additional Requirements:Must possess a valid driver’s license.Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, nights and weekends as needed.Must be physically capable of lifting and placing large components.Must be capable of climbing silos, aggregate bins and conveyor buildings and perform tasks at these heights.Must be able to lift 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or pull up to 50 pounds frequently.Must be able to lift and carry from floor level to waist level and push/pull objects with similar force.Physical demands include but are not limited to reaching, handling, fingering and or feeling, kneeling, squatting, bending and climbing. Essential functions of this job:The work is in a safety sensitive environment.There is significant noise, vibration and heat which is intermittent but may cause hearing loss and bodily harm.There is also significant dust and dirt in the environment.There are many conditions and situations which present danger of bodily injury such as heights, moving mechanical parts, electrical shock and other hazards.
