Service Manager

Job Description:Job Summary:Geis Utility Trailer is seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to oversee our heavy-duty trailer service department. This role is responsible for managing both first and second-shift technician teams, ensuring efficient operations, and delivering top-quality customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, industry experience, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and manage the daily operations of the service department, including both first and second-shift teams.Supervise, train, and support service technicians to ensure efficiency and high-quality work.Schedule and prioritize repair and maintenance work to meet customer demands and deadlines.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.Monitor shop performance, productivity, and workflow to optimize operations.Communicate with customers regarding service needs, estimates, and repair progress.Work closely with the parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary parts.Maintain service records, reports, and documentation for all repairs and maintenance.Resolve customer concerns and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.Implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service department performance.Manage and provide leadership to the team, which includes an Estimator, a Service Shop Foreman for each shift, and a Service Advisor.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or business degree preferred.Previous experience in service management, preferably in the heavy-duty truck or trailer industry.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication and customer service abilities.Knowledge of trailer repair, maintenance procedures, and industry best practices.Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in service management software and basic computer skills.Use of Microsoft Excel, Word and TeamsUnderstanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.Geis Dealer Group is an equal opportunity employer.Job Type: Full-time.Benefits:401(k).Dental insurance.Employee discount.Health insurance.Paid time off.Vision insurance.Work Location: In person.
