JOB TITLE: Diesel Technician.REPORTS TO: Yard Manager.JOB TYPE: Full-time, Non-Exempt.LOCATION: 6225 Thompson Rd. Syracuse, NY 13206.HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.OVER TIME: Saturday’s 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM as needed and/or requested.COMPENSATION: $28-30 Based on experience & skills.PURPOSE:The purpose of this position is to service and repair on-road and off-road heavy equipment.RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform basic preventative maintenance on all diesel vehicles, heavy equipment such as tractors, roll-off trucks, lugger trucks, loaders, excavators, forklifts, etc.Troubleshoot and repair all types of diesel engine equipment. Diagnose and repair heavy machinery (tractors, roll-off trucks, lugger trucks, excavators, loaders, forklifts, skid steers).Repair, replace, recondition, disassemble, weld and examine parts and engines.Maintain inventory of tools and supplies.Perform all other duties as assigned by the manager.Comply with all company safety measures and government regulations.Communicate with internal customers (yard | warehouse | transportation staff and management) in a professional and courteous manner.QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of two (2) years diesel mechanic experience or trade school equivalent.Must have own tools.A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.Ability to lift and move heavy objects (over 50 pounds).Squat and kneel.Bend and twist as appropriate.Sit/Stand for long periods at a time.BENEFITS:Life insurance $25,000 (100% employer paid).Medical & Dental (70% employer paid).401(k) - 2.5% match.8.5 paid holidays.Paid vacation, Paid sick days.Vision Insurance (Out of pocket).Flexible Spending Account (Out of pocket).Aflac Services (Out of pocket).Safety Toe Boot and Safety Glasses Reimbursement Annually.This description is a representation of job duties and is not to be considered a full disclosure.
