Director of Compliance Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Director of Compliance Engineering with expertise in UL 9540A standards to lead the compliance and regulatory strategy for a fast-growing U.S.-based electronics manufacturer in the battery and energy storage sector located in the East Dallas, TX area. This senior-level role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a deep understanding of product safety, grid interconnection, and North American certification standards.Key Responsibilities:Lead compliance efforts across all product lines, including solar inverters, battery storage, and energy systems.Oversee certification processes and ensure adherence to applicable safety and regulatory standards (UL, CSA, IEC, NEC, NFPA, IEEE).Interface with third-party testing labs and regulatory bodies to secure product certifications.Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to ensure compliance is embedded from design to launch.Manage field and fire testing coordination, factory audits, and compliance documentation.Develop internal compliance processes, training, and team culture.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Law, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications is preferred.8+ years in compliance engineering within the energy, solar, or power electronics sectors.3+ years in a leadership role managing compliance or certification teams.Strong knowledge of UL 9540, UL 1741 SB, IEEE 1547, and other relevant standards.Proven experience working with NRTLs (e.g., UL, Intertek) and handling certification timelines and processes.Exceptional project management, technical communication, and documentation skills.Preferred:Experience with compliance testing setups at manufacturing sites.Familiarity with utility interconnection requirements in the U.S. and Canada.Background in supporting product launch strategies and market readiness.This is a direct-hire, high-impact leadership opportunity, the starting base pay range is $180K-$200K plus benefits, incentives, room for growth and the chance to work on products that are transforming the renewable energy landscape.
