The Surgical Technician/L.P.N. in the Operating Room participates with a team in the preparation, maintenance, breakdown of sterile and unsterile supplies for the surgical cases. He/she may act as a scrub assistant, and assistant to the surgeon as needed. Able to provide appropriate care for the patients served, regardless of age. Qualifications EDUCATION High school; graduate from certified technician program preferred, orholds license in Practical Nursing, and related Operating Room experience with advanced education. National Certification as a Surgical Technologist Preferred EXPERIENCE Must meet the criteria for Surgical Technician/LPN, minimum of 2 years current experience preferred in an operating room and consistently demonstrates competent practice in assigned service. Maintains his/her certification. LICENSURE National Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS Ability to perform scrub assistant responsibilities at advanced level.
