Overview

RN - Labor & Delivery / Postpartum (Resource Team). This position requires floating to facilities within Region 1 (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH) and related sites. Scheduling includes weekend rotation every other, no call for travelers, and travelers will work 75% of holidays. RTO requires Resource Team approval.

Responsibilities
  • Care for postpartum moms; RN: 1:4 for postpartum care; will not care for the newborn.
  • Manage high?risk postpartum conditions: postpartum hemorrhage, preeclampsia/eclampsia/magnesium drips, infections, diabetes management, NICU moms, fetal demise deliveries under 20 weeks gestation, GYN overflow.
  • Provide postpartum assessments and IV medications, blood transfusions, and associated care; preeclampsia management with IV medications; pumping support; PCA administration as applicable.
  • Departmental support: CNA (typically 1:7), charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, RT 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, intensivist 24/7, attending or MFM, OB providers, anesthesia/CRNA, and Womens Service Line educators.
  • Technology and equipment: EMR EPIC, IV pumps (Alaris), monitors (Phillips), and Omnicell medication dispensing.
  • Floating: required to float per region needs to all listed facilities; if floating mid?shift, travel time will be paid while on the clock.
  • Site details include Region 1 facilities: Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH).
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years LDRP RN experience (Resource Team).
  • Will you accept a first-time traveler? Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team).
  • Required licenses/certs: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP (Resource Team requirement) or other position?specific requirements such as drivers license and/or insurance.
