Senior Project Manager

Assurit Cybersecurity, a certified small business headquartered in Fairfax, VA, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support one of our clients within the Public Safety domain.

About The Role

Lead large?scale technology initiatives, aligning business and technology goals, coordinating with stakeholders, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end?to?end Public Safety technology projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and IT strategy.
  • Oversee project planning, execution, tracking, and delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • Identify risks, issues, and dependencies while implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Define and manage project scope, milestones, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.
  • Prepare detailed reports, executive summaries, and professional project documentation.
  • Facilitate meetings, develop agendas, and lead project communications with technical and non?technical stakeholders.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain consistent progress tracking and ensure all work adheres to project governance standards.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 8+ years of related IT/security experience.
  • Hands?on experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ development.
  • Proficiency in Java, XML, SQL, and BeanShell scripting.
  • Experience with IAM in enterprise or public sector environments.
  • Familiarity with directory services (LDAP, Active Directory).
  • Experience integrating systems using REST and SOAP services.
  • Strong problem?solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive project management experience leading large, complex initiatives.
  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (PMI).
  • Demonstrated experience managing software and/or hardware implementations using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Proven success managing deliverables across the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience developing and presenting executive?level communications and reports.
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, and time?management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Project Server and SharePoint.
  • Prior experience working in a government or public sector environment.
  • Familiarity with public safety systems and operations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances.
