Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position specializing in interventional radiology recovery with ICU and pediatric patient care experience.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a hospital IR PACU, primarily handling post-anesthesia recovery for interventional radiology procedures
  • Care for both adult and pediatric patients in phase 1 recovery
  • Three 12-hour day shifts per week with rotating start times of 6:00, 7:00, or 8:00 AM
  • 3 to 4 late stays required per 6-week period
  • Call required: weekday call from 8PM to 6AM, weekend call divided into two shifts (6AM-6PM, 6PM-6AM); 2-3 call shifts per schedule period
  • Must float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
  • PACU to close at 8PM; IR PACU team follows patients to main PACU if finishing recovery after hours
  • Responsible for safe recovery and monitoring of IR PACU patients, including pediatric cases
  • Must respond to call within one hour
  • Team-based approach; IR PACU call team manages recovery of their patients even at main PACU
  • Orientation includes approximately 6.5 hours of online modules, completed during onboarding and annually
  • Holiday and weekend coverage as part of rotating call requirements
  • RTO must be presented at time of consideration and will not be accepted after offer
  • Rehire eligibility is determined by the system and must be disclosed prior to offer
Requirements
  • Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 1 year ICU experience required
  • IR PACU experience required, including phase 1 recovery
  • Pediatric PACU care experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; PALS must be obtained prior to start if not already held
  • Two years of PACU specialty experience required
  • Must provide a reference from a charge nurse or supervisor
  • No licensure hits accepted
  • Must not reside within a 75-mile radius of the facility
  • Former staff may return as a traveler after a 90-day break
