Lead Business Analyst

We are seeking a Lead Business Analyst to drive business analysis excellence across strategic initiatives and complex programs. This role blends hands-on analysis with leadershipguiding stakeholders, mentoring analysts, and translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements that enable high-quality delivery.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, systems thinker, and problem solver who can operate comfortably between business leaders, technical teams, and delivery partners.
ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & Strategy
- Lead discovery and requirements definition for complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Partner with senior stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and opportunities
- Translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements
- Evaluate current-state processes and design optimized future-state solutions
- Support business case development, value tracking, and benefits realization
- Act as the primary business analysis lead on major programs or portfolios
- Mentor and coach Business Analysts, setting standards and best practices
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and decision-making forums
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology leadership
Delivery & Change Enablement
- Work closely with Product Managers, Project Managers, and delivery teams to ensure requirements are understood and delivered accurately
- Support agile and/or waterfall delivery methodologies as appropriate
- Manage scope, dependencies, and requirements traceability
- Assist with change management, user acceptance testing, and implementation support
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of experience in business analysis, with demonstrated leadership responsibilities
- Strong experience gathering, documenting, and validating complex requirements
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading or managing a team of Business Analysts
- Industry experience in Higher Education
- Familiarity with data analysis, reporting tools, or process modeling tools
