Histotechnologist Job Details Position Type: Travel Contract – Hospital Histotechnologist Location: On-site in Danville, PA (17822) – Pennsylvania healthcare jobs Setting: Hospital Surgical Pathology Laboratory Start Date: December 22, 2025 End Date: March 22, 2026 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8 Hour Evenings Hours per Week: 40 Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,560 - $1,670 Histotechnologist Qualifications Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience in histology or clinical lab support Graduate from a Specialty Training Program (required); Associate's Degree in medical laboratory science or related field (preferred) Certified Histotechnician (ASCP) – required for hospital histology jobs Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a healthcare setting Histotechnologist Responsibilities Process and prepare tissue specimens for examination by Pathologists in a hospital lab Operate tissue processing equipment and perform manual fixation methods Embed specimens in paraffin and perform microtomy for quality histology sections Perform routine and special staining procedures for diagnostic examination Maintain laboratory equipment and participate in preventive maintenance programs Assist with inventory management and supply handling in the clinical laboratory Participate in quality improvement programs and competency assessments Support training and orientation of new healthcare team members Discover rewarding Pennsylvania healthcare jobs and make a difference in patient care.
