Sifted kitchens are zero food waste with all food scraps being composted and all leftovers being donated everyday. Since launching our donation program, Sifted has donated over $3M in lunches to those who experience food insecurity in our 6 cities. We believe that as our company grows, so does our responsibility therefore were constantly looking for ways to improve sustainability and protect our natural resources.
About the roleSchedule: Monday - Friday // 8am-4pm
Sifted is building out a brand new, dynamic corporate catering space in South San Francisco and needs a highly motivated Utility Lead to help our team. You will be responsible for receiving and organizing daily shipments and maintaining storage areas among other duties.
This Monday- Friday role would be great for someone with receiving skills or interested in getting into the industry. We are offering an exciting opportunity to join a company that is growing rapidly and looking for people with a passion to work with a great team and offer great hospitality to our clients each and every day.
What youll be doing- Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
- Unload packages from incoming trucks
- Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
- Verify items according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
- Speak with Executive Chef or MOD if there was identified with an item or delivery
- Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
- Ensure invoices are signed and filed properly
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
- Maintain all storage areas, daily cleaning, organizing, identify items needing addressing
- To project a positive and motivated attitude amongst all Team Members
- Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position preferred
- Understanding of health and safety regulations for food service
- Basic math and recording abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Great communication and interpersonal abilities
- Must be able to stand for up to 6 hours at a time and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent certification
- Lead by example in all aspects of the business (production/attitude/cleaning/punctuality)
- Lead by example in regards of safety and sanitation standards set by the local Health Department
- Ability to work efficiently in order to maximize team output and minimize overall labor hours
- Ability to maintain a calm and collected demeanor
- Ability to understand and communicate in written + spoken English
- Compensation : $27 per hour
- Company-sponsored health insurance plans, including 100% company-paid HDHP, as well as vision + dental opt-in
- 401(k) program available after six months of employment
- 80 hours of PTO with each year of employment; paid winter break from Dec?24?-?Jan?1

Eligibility
This position must maintain a California State Food Handlers Card
Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a commercial kitchen
Physical RequirementsThis position requires standing for up to 6 hours at a time and moving equipment up to 50 lbs.

The pay range for this role is:
