Sr. Applications Engineer

Job Summary:

InspireSemi has developed an advanced, next generation accelerated computing platform for HPC, AI, graph analytics and other compute-intensive applications. This supercomputer-cluster-on-a-chip has 1,536 high-performance 64-bit CPU cores per chip, interconnected with our low latency network fabric. We are looking for an experienced Sr. Applications Engineer with demonstrated ability in moving HPC/AI applications onto new platforms and optimizing their performance. In this role, you will work closely with our leading-edge customers, helping them deploy and optimize their software applications and libraries to our revolutionary Thunderbird accelerated computing platform.

You will also work directly with the Product Marketing and R&D teams to drive customer requirements and influence the direction of InspireSemi next-generation products and technologies. Responsibilities:

• Lead customer technical engagements, helping them deploy and optimize their software applications and libraries to our revolutionary Thunderbird accelerated computing platform.
• Profile and identify bottlenecks in a wide range of HPC/AI applications.
• Develop creative algorithmic and software solutions to solve bottlenecks and accelerate software on the Thunderbird accelerated computing platform.
• Translate application requirements into software features and hardware requirements.
• Develop performance models for future generations of accelerated computing architectures.
• Create demos, application notes and other technical docs to help speed adoption.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with development in one or more HPC/AI application domains.
• Technical Skills:
  • Excellent C/C++ programming skills and proficiency in Fortran preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Linux.
  • Ability to measure application-level performance and profile HPC/AI applications at the node level and at scale.
  • Working understanding of OpenMP, MPI, and related parallel programming models.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex data sets.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Travel: willingness to travel as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise in competitive performance analysis is strongly preferred.
• Experience in a leadership role or with project management responsibilities.
