Contract Duration: Approximately 7 Months

Start: As Soon As Possible

Pay Rate: $22.00 $27.20/hr

Schedule / Hours:

  • MondayFriday: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
  • Rotational Saturdays as scheduled
  • Flexibility required for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
Job Overview

The Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the organization to patients seeking routine care or critical health insights. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring all activities follow established practices and procedures with a strong focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and patient trust.

Responsibilities
  • Draw quality blood specimens using skillful, safe, and accurate techniques.
  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
  • Explain procedures clearly to patients, fostering trust and confidence.
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and data entry.
  • Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as staffing needs require.
  • Strong keyboard and data entry skills.
Education & Certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).
  • State of California Phlebotomy License (required).
  • Phlebotomy certification (required in CA; also required in NV and WA).
Work Experience
  • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (required).
  • 1+ year of phlebotomy experience (preferred).
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (preferred).
