Contract Duration: Approximately 7 Months
Start: As Soon As Possible
Pay Rate: $22.00 $27.20/hr
Schedule / Hours:
- MondayFriday: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
- Rotational Saturdays as scheduled
- Flexibility required for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
The Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the organization to patients seeking routine care or critical health insights. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring all activities follow established practices and procedures with a strong focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and patient trust.
Responsibilities- Draw quality blood specimens using skillful, safe, and accurate techniques.
- Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients, fostering trust and confidence.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with protocols.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and data entry.
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as staffing needs require.
- Strong keyboard and data entry skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).
- State of California Phlebotomy License (required).
- Phlebotomy certification (required in CA; also required in NV and WA).
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (required).
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience (preferred).
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (preferred).
