Receiving Coordinator

Receiving Coordinators are responsible for accepting products delivered to the store and tracking the product for accurate inventory records. This role requires unloading and arranging product, returning defective items, processing store transfers, and working with others to resolve differences between what is on the shelves and what is in the computer system. All Jax employees are expected to provide outstanding customer service, which Receiving Coordinators do externally with delivery drivers and internally by working in conjunction with stores and the Purchasing and Accounting departments.

For this position, Jax is looking for candidates who enjoy a physically demanding job, will follow safety precautions and stay alert for safety hazards, is skilled at using computer systems, and can communicate clearly and professionally with others.

Responsibilities for this role include unloading trucks, shifting loads with a forklift or pallet jack, stocking shelves, recording product movement in computer systems, and coordinating with store management, Purchasing, and Accounting to accurately track inventory. Additional tasks may include:

• Receiving, unpacking, and examining goods shipped
• Checking shipments for discrepancies between the purchase order and what was delivered
• Verifying completeness of shipments against bills of lading, invoices and other records
• Accurately processing documentation and completing records
• Printing barcodes for items without tags
• Maintaining a clean and well?stocked area
• Stocking and loading out items including large quantities of 50?pound bags of feed
• Complete record?keeping tasks and contributing to reports
• Assisting in loss prevention efforts
• Communicating professionally with staff, other departments, vendors, and customers
• Presenting a professional appearance and demeanor
• Taking steps to advance teamwork and develop solid working relationships with co?workers
• Assisting in inventory responsibilities
• Maintains forklift certification
• Follows all JAX Safety procedures
  

Our ideal candidate has prior customer service experience, and is willing to pitch?in where needed. Additional knowledge, skills or abilities include:

• Previous knowledge of or experience with shipping, receiving or warehouse work preferred
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a regular basis required for moving products
• Experience using a pallet jack or forklift is helpful
• Computer proficiency required
• Works well with others
• Organizational skills
