Customer Service Specialist

The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for delivery of exemplary customer service by greeting and assisting patients and visitors, answering high volume phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, and overseeing other daily operations of the front desk in a medical office. The role also includes collecting patient balances at check?in and check?out and staying up to date on insurance plans.
Responsibilities- Answer high volume phone calls and use customer service principles and techniques while responding to patient inquiries.
- Gather complete and accurate patient demographic and financial information; verify or identify insurance plans and obtain benefit information.
- Interact with patients and insurance companies over the phone including referral and authorization management.
- Takes and accurately records patient payments for balances during check?in or check?out.
- Accurately schedule patient appointments and utilize proper scheduling techniques to maximize appointment availability for patients.
- Clearly and concisely communicate with physicians and staff regarding any patient?related issues.
- Ensure patient information is accurate, up to date, and complete in the electronic medical record program.
- Assist in maintaining liaisons with other organizations and offices for the exchange of information.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 01 year of medical practice clerical experience.
- 1 year of clerical experience in a health care setting.
