Parts Procurement Specialist

Parts Procurement Specialist at Midwest Peterbilt Group. The role is responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory of parts to support the operational and sales success. This role involves building vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely availability of parts to meet company needs. The ideal candidate will analyze market trends, maintain procurement records, and collaborate with internal teams to optimize inventory and drive cost efficiencies. This position supports seamless operations and delivers exceptional service to customers.
Responsibilities- Manage sourcing, purchasing, and inventory of parts to support operational and sales needs
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; negotiate pricing and resolve procurement issues
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Maintain accurate procurement records and generate reports on pricing trends
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize inventory, ensure availability, and improve processes
- Direct CSR submissions and streamline processes across locations where applicable
- Provide training and guidance on CSR best practices to enhance team efficiency
- Partner with other departments to align procurement activities with customer needs and company goals
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment and process efficiencies
- Minimum of two years of experience in procurement, parts management, or a related field
- Proven experience with competitive analyses and market research
- Knowledge of the commercial truck or automotive parts industry is highly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate or bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite (especially Excel), internet, email, and ability to quickly learn industry software
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and technical documents
- Strong writing skills for clear and professional reports and correspondence
- Basic math skills to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages
- Effective listening and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical abilities to evaluate pricing and market trends
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
- Must have a valid drivers license and meet company insurability requirements
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus
- Occasional visits to vendors or other dealership locations may be necessary
