The Transportation Engineering Technician Senior will report to the District Construction Office. Performs advanced level and supervisory duties associated with either the engineering or construction areas of highway and bridge construction and maintenance. Participates in a training program requiring 180 Technician Development Hours. Performs other related duties as required.
REQUIRED TRAINING/EDUCATION
Certification as a Transportation Engineering Technician Senior by the West Virginia Transportation Engineering Technician Certification Board.
Associates degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major in Civil Engineering Technology, plus ten (10) years of paid experience in a technical capacity in a civil engineering environment may be substituted for the required training/education.
OR
Associate's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in applied science in highway Engineering Technology, plus ten (10) years of paid experience in a technical capacity in a civil engineering environment may be substituted for the required training/education.
OR
Associate's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar technical degree, from an accredited college or university, plus eight (8) years of paid experience in a technical capacity in a Civil Engineering environment may be substituted for the required training/education.
OR
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar technical degree, from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of paid experience in a technical capacity in a Civil Engineering environment may be substituted for the required training/education.
