Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants (APPs) for a Hospitalist Medicine locum tenens opportunity at a large, well-supported acute care hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

This is a day-shift–only hospitalist role with a collaborative MD + APP staffing model, strong specialty backup, and no night call. The program is seeking currently licensed Georgia APPs and will pause outreach after the first 10 qualified name clears.

• ICU Model: Closed ICU with intensivist coverage
• Open ICU: No
• ED Beds: 38
• Admits per Day: ~30
• Night Admissions: ~9 (handled by night team)
• Total Day Census per Provider: 15–20
• Night Call: None
• Coverage Model:
  • 60 hours/day MD coverage
  • 24-hour APP coverage (day-focused role)

This is a high-functioning Hospitalist program with clear division of responsibilities and excellent multidisciplinary support.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Daytime hospitalist coverage for adult inpatients
• Perform daily rounding, admissions, and discharges
• Collaborate with attending physicians and specialty consultants
• Manage inpatient medical care within scope of practice
• Document care accurately in Cerner EMR
• No procedures required
• No night call responsibilities

Candidate Requirements

• Licensure:
  • Active and unrestricted Georgia NP or PA license (REQUIRED)
  • Pending licenses will not be considered
• Certifications Required: BLS and ACLS
• Experience: Inpatient Hospitalist experience preferred

Credentialing & Privileges

• Temporary Privileges: Available
• Estimated Temp Privileging Timeline: ~45 days with clean file
• Application Process: Facility will process pending applications, but preference is given to already-licensed candidates
