As a Traffic Engineer you will orchestrate the design and development of cutting-edge traffic proxies, libraries, and services that power Apple services at an unprecedented scale, serving hundreds of millions of users globally. As an engineer in our tech ecosystem, you will take help enhance our network stack for improved ingress, egress, and mesh functionality. • Skilled with one or more advanced programming language such as C, C++, Rust, Java, Go, or native code languages.
• Experience with automating operations (e.g., software deployments, config changes) at scale
• Understanding of performance analysis and optimizations
• Full product lifecycle ownership mindset (design ? implementation ? production)
• General knowledge of large scale distributed systems

• Professional expertise in Traffic/Edge Engineering or Cloud Networking
• Proven expertise with Linux network stack
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Chef, Puppet)
• Passionate about working with open source projects and working across a large organization to meet Apple's dynamic traffic needs
• Experience with core production engineering best practices (e.g., designing for operability and scalability, adopting SLOs, eliminating toil)

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
