Network Engineer

Our client has an immediate remote opening for a Network Engineer consultant with BlueCat experience. If you are interested, please apply with your resume to the provided email.

Technical Competencies:

• Networking Fundamentals
• In-depth understanding of BlueCat networking concepts and principles across the OSI model i.e. TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLANS, VPNS
• Experienced with Routing protocols BGP and OSPF
• Experience implementing and managing EVPN VXLAN deployments
• Arista Switching experience a plus specifically in deployments leveraging EVPN & VXLAN.

Scripting:

• Experience with Python
• Familiarity with automation/configuration management frameworks Ansible
• Knowledge of RESTFUL APIs, YAML, JSON/XML
• Experience with Arista AVD framework - usage and implementation a plus.

Network Automation Tools:

• Experience leveraging tools such as Ansible, NAPALM, Netmiko in a CI/CD pipeline
• Experiencing building and development of CI/CD pipelines
• Proficient with Git version control and leveraging GitHub or Gitlab for CI/CD for purposes of Network automation.
• Experience leveraging open Data Models for the purpose of network automation.

Cloud Networking:

• Experience with cloud networking concepts and applied knowledge of AWS
• Knowledge of SDN (Software Defined Networking) and NFV (Network Functions Virtualization)
• Experience building and using IaC networking tools with Terraform
• Experience with Equinix Network Edge and Fabric services a plus.

DevOps Practices:

• Understanding and comfort in leveraging DevOps principles and methodologies and ability to apply them to networking use cases.
• Familiarity with containerization Docker, Kubernetes

Security:

• Understanding of and experience with implementation of network security principles and capabilities Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption.
• Familiarity with Zero-trust architecture frameworks and secure automation practices.

Network Virtualization:

• Experience working with virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM, Nutanix AHV.
• Knowledge of virtual network appliances and leveraging them with overlays (VXLAN).
