As a tech-savvy individual, your primary responsibilities will be to ensure that our client's bookkeeping, HST, payroll and tax returns are always completed promptly. As a lifelong learner, you will be open to learning new technology that can be used to increase efficiency on files and provide a better overall user experience for our clients. You proactively seek ways to improve the bookkeeping processes, client experiences, and overall service delivery.

Effectively navigating and using cloud-based accounting tools and applications for full cycle accounting for data entry and financial management to perform the full accounting services such as:

• Bank Reconciliations & Entries in QuickBooks and Xero to ensure the accuracy of financial data
• Manage the Accounts Payable process
• Manage the Accounts Receivable & Invoicing process
• Assist with the preparation of Year-end Records
• File T4 & T5 Income Tax Returns
• Prepare & Process Payroll & Source Deductions ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
• Prepare Government Slips and GST/HST Returns
• Prepare Records of Employment
• Communicate with CRA about Internal & Client Files
• Assist clients with new company setups in QuickBooks

• Support the design and implementation of enhancements to accounting and finance processes, systems, and control
• Other duties as required

• 2-5 years of experience with full-cycle accounting or bookkeeping, with preference given to applicants with more experience in Quickbooks Online and Xero
• Strong knowledge of account reconciliation, account analysis, bank reconciliations, processing payroll and managing accounts payable/receivable
• Methodical mindset with the ability to manage several accounts/duties concurrently
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Canadian corporate tax exposure with preference given to candidates with experience
• Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with Canadian income tax laws and regulations
  • Working knowledge of payroll applications such as Wagepoint, Payment Evolution and Quickbooks
  • Working knowledge of accounting-related applications such as Dext, Plooto, Bill.com, Stripe, Shopify, Dropbox and Google Workspace/Suite
• Experience within an accounting firm environment is strongly preferred
