General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience. Associates greet customers with eye contact, smiles and friendly comments, support fellow associates, maintain clean work areas, and ensure proper merchandise presentation. During all working hours, they engage in tasks assigned and may be asked to perform additional tasks as business needs require.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety and practice safe behaviors in all tasks.
• Maintain awareness on the sales floor, keeping the area clear and safe, and report unsafe conditions.
• Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy, while being friendly and professional.
• Assist customers register trained, help with merchandise, answer questions politely and knowledgeably; greet customers with eye contact, smile, say "hello" and thank them on every transaction.
• Provide prompt and efficient customer service, responding to service calls immediately and resolving issues courteously, calling Store Leadership if needed.
• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high?touch areas.
• Adhere to the Companys dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
• Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery per company best practice to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
• Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandizing per company best practice to monthly presentation guidelines.
• Understand Loss Prevention Awareness, Shortage Highway, Store Protection Specialist (SPS), and merchandise protection standards.
• Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card data, and merchandise.
• Follow all Mark?Out?of?Stock (MOS) policies, properly process each piece, and notify Store Leadership for approvals.
• Follow cash, check, charge card, refund policy and maintain accuracy when handling bankable tenders.
• Execute store workflows efficiently to maximize productivity.

Qualifications & Special Skills Required

• Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in a retail environment.
  

Physical Requirements / ADA

• Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required.
• Spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
• Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
• Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
• Certain assignments may require additional qualifications and skills.
• Associates who work Stockroom shifts: Regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.

The base pay range for this role is $13.00 - $16.90. The range depends on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The listed range is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
