Sev1Tech is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Network Engineer to join our team in supporting the US Space Force meshONE-T program. This position will assist in the management, configuration, and troubleshooting of the network infrastructure and is ideal for someone looking to build a career in network engineering and gain hands-on experience with networking technologies. This position is based out of the Denver, CO area.
- Implement various network solutions including design, configuration, integration, testing, launch, troubleshooting and ongoing support of innovative networking technologies
- Perform system-level design and configuration of products, such as routers, switches, NGFW, and other network devices
- Support the testing and installation of network communications systems, including LAN/ WAN systems
- Diagnose and resolve network issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity
- Support of all updates to all documents when there is change in the transport design and/or technologies and collaborating with all stakeholders to test all related systems and processes to verify that the systems meet requirements and can host applications
- Maintain and update network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and inventory lists
- Utilize software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose complex problems and factors affecting network performance
- Communicate effectively with other project groups such as cybersecurity, network, operations, and Program Management teams to assist with the installation and troubleshooting of systems components
- Work closely with senior network engineers and other IT staff on network projects and initiatives, including upgrades and migrations
- Stay current with networking technologies and industry best practices
Salary - 110k DOE
Responsibilities:
- Support the Government in Mission Partner (MP) engagement, on-boarding, and administration (e.g. "Customer Journey"), including initial discovery, requirements capture, solutioning, service agreement, and continuing customer relationship management.
- Ensure the network topology meets the allocated Quality of Service (QoS) bandwidth budget while meeting the performance requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver engineering documentation and installation artifacts in support of all site processes for the fielding and integration of meshONE-T equipment (e.g., site survey information, AF Form 332, engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, circuit diagrams, install and checkout plans).
- Implement the Service Design to incrementally deliver Government-approved meshONE-T system components, services, and capabilities to satisfy the requirements in the SRD.
- Use Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability {RMA) engineering and systems engineering processes to develop, design, and verify that the system meets the documented requirements and is consistent with DoD Guide for Achieving Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability, 3 August 2005.
- Develop a Technical Implementation Specification (TIS) for each MP detailing the services, technical solution, and the unique interface details between meshONE-T and the MP, for inclusion in the respective SSA.
- Review external stakeholder connection information and other interface document changes, provide suggested red line changes, perform impact assessments, and present details to the Government as required.
Security Clearance: Must be currently eligible for a TS/SCI
Qualifications:
- Experience with routing/switching configuration and troubleshooting to the CCNA level
- Experience with NetBrain, Solarwinds, Infoblox, and ITSM
- Experience working in Department of Defense or with Department of Defense or other Federal contracts
