Position Overview

The Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the front-line representative for patients, delivering high-quality blood collection and specimen preparation services. This role emphasizes patient trust, accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism while supporting both clinical and forensic specimen collection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection safely and accurately, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and compliant work environment.
  • Complete required records and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (required)
  • Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Keyboarding and data entry proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of phlebotomy experience
  • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environments
Licensure & Certification
  • California Phlebotomy License required
  • Phlebotomy certification required in CA, NV, and WA
Work Environment
  • Patient Service Center and clinical settings
  • High-volume workflows with changing daily priorities
