General Description

The Project Manager Trainee will be involved in every step of the asphalt construction process including but not limited to, reviewing job blueprints, management of ongoing projects, scheduling crews, and submitting applications for payment. The Project Manager Trainee will receive on the job training every step of the way from highly qualified Adams employees, and will be responsible for learning all aspects of our asphalt construction business. Approximately 80% of the work involved with this position will be completed in the field and the other 20% will be completed in the office.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Review and do takeoffs of job plans
  • Submitting required documents for projects
  • Manage multiple projects in a manner that ensures crews are working efficiently and that the job is progressing according to schedule
  • Communicate with both general contractors and subcontractors to schedule work and/or resolve any issues

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and other members of the Adams team
  • Must be able to multi-task and problem solve
  • Must have strong individual work ethic and be ready and willing to learn

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • General computer skills required
  • Experience with takeoff software such as Bluebeam or with CAD software preferred, but not required
  • Construction work experience not required, but a familiarity with job plans and the general construction process is helpful
  • Valid Drivers License with acceptable driving record
