Job Description Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. A rewarding opportunity awaits experienced Registered Nurses skilled in stepdown care to contribute to critical patient recovery in a dynamic clinical environment. This contract position is based in Columbia, MO, offering the chance to apply your expertise in managing complex cases across surgical, medical, and neurological patients within a stepdown unit. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and medical procedures, including neuro cases. Manage vascular devices such as PICC and central lines, ensuring proper care and maintenance. Administer and titrate vasoactive drips including neosynephrine, amiodarone, and cardizem. Perform airway management including CPAP/BiPAP support and tracheostomy care. Utilize advanced cardiac skills such as obtaining 12 lead EKGs and assisting with cardioversion/defibrillation when needed. Handle orthopedic and oncology procedures including epidurals, PCA pumps, feeding tubes, and wound vac applications. Float within the stepdown unit, maintaining flexibility to meet patient care demands. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Desired Experience and Qualifications: Current RN licensure with stepdown nursing experience. Proficiency in IV insertion and vascular device care, including dialysis fistula management. Skilled in airway management techniques and cardiac monitoring. Familiarity with specialized equipment such as bladder scanners, IV pumps, PCA pumps, SCDs, bipaps, cpaps, optiflows, vapotherms, and airvos. Ability to work with nurse-to-patient ratios approximately 1:3. Experience with line management and preferred cardiac procedures is a plus.
