We are seeking a Permanent Pulmonary Critical Care Physician in Iowa.

Permanent Pulmonary Critical Care Physician

Position Type:

Shift: Monday Friday + call

Position Details:
Patient Population: Adult
Setting: Inpatient, Outpatient, ICU, Trauma Level III
Responsibilities: ICU coverage, inpatient and outpatient care, shared call, procedures, supervision of NPs/PAs, teaching support staff
Required Procedures:

  • Ventilation management (ETT/NT/Tracheostomy, BiPAP/CPAP)

  • Central Line, Arterial Line, PA Catheter, IABP

  • Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion/management

  • Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Chest tube insertion

  • Bronchoscopy + BAL, PFT, Pulmonary Rehab

  • Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing, Bronchoprovocation Testing, EBUS

  • Management of asthma, COPD, ILD, fibrosis, pneumonia, nodules, pulmonary vascular disease
    EMR System: Cerner
    Support Staff: Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants
    Days Per Month: Full-time (Monday Friday)
    On-Call/Weekends: 1:4 nights and weekends

Submission Requirements:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease Required

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care Medicine Required

  • IA license or willingness to obtain Required

  • Fellowship completed in Pulmonary/Critical Care Required

  • ACLS Required

  • Experience with required procedures Required

  • Clean malpractice Preferred
