Assists the pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law. Maintains good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers. Achieves customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions. Other duties include stocking and pricing over the counter (OTC) items, maintaining the OTC areas, processing clinic medication requisitions, and other duties as required by the pharmacist. Be able to drive to all pharmacy locations to cover shifts and must be flexible and willing to change work schedule with little or no notice.

Counts, pours, and packages medication, following all prescription error prevention procedures, for review by the pharmacist

Enters prescription and patient information into the pharmacy computer system

Retrieves medication from stock

Refers medical, prescription, or other appropriate questions or phone calls to pharmacist

At point of sale, verifies that customer receives correct prescription(s)

Enters sales on cash register, process payments, and bags merchandise at end of sale

Enters refill requests in IDX, contacts physician's office or refill hotline regarding refill authorizations

Answers and transfers phone calls

Move stock from storage to OTC area, follow plan-o-gram to stock shelves, label OTC products and shelves, complete OTC price changes, and change ad signs

Any other duties as deem necessary to support clinic and pharmacy activities

Stock pharmacy shelves and remove outdated over the counter (OTC) stock, returns, call-ins, etc. from shelves and complete paperwork for returning goods

Assist customers in locating OTC needs

Fronts and clean shelves, counters, bins, etc.

Attend meetings as designated

High school diploma OR GED OR completion from an accredited program

TSBP Registration

6+ months of pharmacy tech experience OR previous experience as a pharmacy service representative OR completion from an accredited program

Proven to operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions

Type 20 WPM

Stress tolerance - Proven to receive prescriptions and ring up sales in a fast paced environment

Physical stamina - Proven to work in a fast paced environment, and maneuver around the pharmacy

Proven to read merchandise labels and invoices; to ask and answer questions over the phone

Proven ability to communicate with customer to address complaints and problems

Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program

PTCB Certification

HMO and 3rd party managed care experience

Proven to know when to refer questions, problems, and complaints to a pharmacist

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.74 to $31.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
