Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Facility: Mount Sinai Hospital
Location: 1468 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10029
Start Date: January 5, 2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days: 3x12 hours (7:00 AM 7:30 PM)
L&D unit includes labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care; every other weekend required

Compensation for 36 hours: $3,090.00 Per Week

Position Overview:
The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse provides specialized, high-quality care to expectant mothers throughout the labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum period. The RN will perform comprehensive patient assessments, fetal monitoring, labor support, medication administration (including oxytocin, epidural management support), and collaborate closely with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and the interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities include maintaining patient safety, demonstrating strong clinical judgment in emergent and high-acuity situations, patient and family education, assisting with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, and participating in quality and performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
Licensure: Active NYS RN License Required
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience Required
Experience circulating for C-sections Preferred
Patient ratio experience: Typically 1:1 or 1:2 Preferred
EMR: EPIC experience highly preferred
Education: BSN
Certifications:
BLS (AHA) Required
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Required
ACLS (AHA) Preferred
EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) Certification Preferred

Facility & Unit Details:
Unit: Labor & Delivery
Patient Ratios: Typically 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for early labor/post-delivery

Scheduling:
Float Required: May float to Postpartum, MotherBaby, or Well-Baby Nursery as needed
Weekend Coverage: Required per schedule

Vaccine Policy: Flu Vaccine: Required
