Summary:
Responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, machinery and infrastructure as assigned by the Plant Engineer.

Essential Duties and responsibilities: Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
  • Effectively troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment to identify issues and take necessary corrective actions.
  • Inspect machinery, lubricate and make adjustments or repairs as needed.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment and ensure good operating condition while optimizing equipment up time and ensure the safe and timely manufacture of products
  • Document preventative maintenance and repairs in equipment maintenance logs per maintenance department requirements
  • Perform facility maintenance as required
  • Participate in the installation of new equipment and physical structures as required
  • Operate shop equipment and tools as skill level will permit
  • Ability to work overtime on nights and weekends as required for the efficient operation of equipment of the facility or when emergencies arise.
  • Support site housekeeping, safety programs or other related tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Secure forklift, lift truck and scissor lift certifications within 90 days of employment
  • Follow proper safety rules and regulations throughout the facility using OSHA best practices. Report any safety concerns or issues to management immediately.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Technical school certificate in mechanical, electrical systems or hydraulics a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Experience with plastic or silicone processing equipment
  • Experience with building automation system (BAS)

  • Work in a fast paced, flexible environment

  • Work well on a diverse team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management as well as other team members
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
  • Knowledge and understanding of three phase and single phase power systems, electrical wiring and control circuity.
  • Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
