We are looking for a Raw Materials Intern to join the KHAITE team for this Spring Semester. This role will report to the Director, Raw Materials and will be based out of the NYC HQ offices. This internship is unpaid and for college credit only.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in sourcing materials, including fabric, leather, trims, and hardware
- Help maintain and organize the materials library, ensuring accurate record-keeping
- Aid in preparing materials for fittings and design meetings
- Assist in quality control, ensuring materials meet KHAITE's standards
- Provide general administrative and logistical support to the Raw Materials team
- Assist with organizing fabric rolls and inventory
- Support the Design and Product Development teams as needed
Skills & Requirements
Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong interest in textiles, material development, and luxury fashion
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be willing and able to lift heavy fabric rolls
Education/Experience:
- Currently enrolled for a Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Fashion Design, Textiles, or a related field
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Previous experience or coursework in textiles, sourcing, or production is a plus
- Proficiency in RLM is a plus.
