The Manager-Pharmacy assists the Director of Pharmacy in the leadership and management of the hospital and retail pharmacy operations. Supervises and/or coordinates the functions related to business transactions, clinical services, compliance, safety and customer service. Works collaboratively system-wide with administrative and medical staff as needed. In consultation with the Director of Pharmacy, is responsible for program planning and ensures compliance with regulatory, organizational, and professional standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy.

Experience: Two (2) years pharmacist experience, one (1) year of which involves pharmacy leadership (such as Pharmacist In-Charge).

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Minnesota license to practice Pharmacy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Doctorate in Pharmacy.

Experience: One (1) year previous pharmacy management or supervisory experience. Completion of one (1) year post-graduate (PGY1) ASHP-accredited residency and/or management residency. Preceptor and/or Residency Program Director in an ASHP-accredited residency program.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS).

READING

Advanced: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.

WRITING

Advanced: Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Advanced: Ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Advanced Skills: Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
