Job Posting: DSP In-Home Caregiver

Location: Center Point, Eastlake, Gardendale, Bessemer/McCalla, Pelham/Alabaster
Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time/PRN
Pay: $13.65 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full and Part-Time Positions Available, 3 Shifts Available

About the Role:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide in-home care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. As a DSP, you will play a critical role in helping our clients live independently and achieve their personal goals in a safe, supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care and support with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, etc.)
  • Assist with mobility and transfers
  • Administer medications as directed
  • Support clients with household tasks (meal preparation, cleaning, laundry)
  • Encourage and support social engagement, recreation, and community activities
  • Monitor and document changes in behavior or health
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and supervisors
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
  • Previous experience as a caregiver or DSP is a plus but not required - we provide training
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable

Requirements

Direct Support Professional Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be willing to undergo a background and drug screening
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to stretch, push, pull, kneel, reach, twist, walk or stand up to eight hours and able to perform the requirements of Physical Management.
